欧洲当地时间昨天，openSUSE 团队正式宣布：openSUSE Leap 15 发布。这是一个基于 SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 的全新社区版本，带来了各种最新软件、事务性更新、服务器角色、可伸缩的用于云的镜像和 Linux 笔记本电脑等诸多特性，并可以方便地迁移至 SLE。

openSUSE Leap 15 的主要变化为：允许迁移至 SLE，引入新的分区器，集成 Groupware （群件） Kopano，以 Firewalld 取代 SuSEfirewall2。Linode（云和基础架构）以及 Tuxedo 笔记本等高端硬件（其他云和硬件）在其平台或设备上分发或搭载 openSUSE。最重要的是，Leap 15 引入了系统角色选项，其中包含经典“”及具有事务性更新和只读根文件系统特性的“事务服务器”角色。 这为从物联网（IoT）和嵌入式设备到经典服务器和桌面角色等所有部署场景带来了原子性更新的所有优势。 除此之外，Leap 15 还针对云计算应用场景下作为虚拟化客户（guest）不断优化。对于桌面场景，Leap 15 提供了包括 KDE 和 GNOME 在内多种桌面，并且重新带回了用以简单测试驱动（simple test-driving）的 Live 镜像。
