VIA旗下的Envy24系列音频芯片被众多中低端独立声卡产品所青睐，像国内的乐之邦和国外的德国坦克等厂商都推出有采用Envy24芯片的声卡型号，拥有着不小的用户群体。不过VIA对Envy24的驱动支持情况实在是不敢恭维，从08年8月份的5.40A至今已经一年有余，期间没有更新过新版驱动，其实这也不难理解，因为VIA现在的工作重心早已不再是电脑芯片组产品。
好在VIA日前还是为Envy24MT发布了一款新版5.40F驱动，别高兴的太早，正所谓希望越大失望也就越大，根据我们和之前的5.40A驱动对比发现，5.40F和5.40A在核心驱动方面没有任何改变，估计仅是在音频控制面板或者安装程序方面进行了改进，此外大家较为关心的新版驱动是否支持Windows 7系统，VIA方面也没有明确说明，但根据以往的经验判断5.40F应该可以兼容Windows 7，不过仅是兼容而已，并不是完美支持。
