iOS / iPadOS 15.3

2022-01-27 |

iOSiOS (formerly iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system created and developed by Apple Inc. exclusively for its hardware. It is the operating system that powers many of the company’s mobile devices, including the iPhone and iPod Touch; the term also included the versions running on iPads until the name iPadOS was introduced with version 13 in 2019. It is the world’s second-most widely installed mobile operating system, after Android. It is the basis for three other operating systems made by Apple: iPadOS, tvOS, and watchOS. It is proprietary software, although some parts of it are open source under the Apple Public Source License and other licenses.

Unveiled in 2007 for the first-generation iPhone, iOS has since been extended to support other Apple devices such as the iPod Touch (September 2007) and the iPad (introduced: January 2010; availability: April 2010.) As of March 2018, Apple’s App Store contains more than 2.1 million iOS applications, 1 million of which are native for iPads. These mobile apps have collectively been downloaded more than 130 billion times.

Major versions of iOS are released annually. The current stable version, iOS 15, was released to the public on September 20, 2021

Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021

2021-11-18 |

Windows LogoWindows 10 has several editions, all with varying feature sets, use cases, or intended devices. Certain editions are distributed only on devices directly from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), while editions such as Enterprise and Education are only available through volume licensing channels. Microsoft also makes editions of Windows 10 available to device manufacturers for use on specific classes of devices, including IoT devices and previously marketed Windows 10 Mobile for smartphones.

Enterprise LTSC
Enterprise LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) (formerly LTSB (Long-Term Servicing Branch)) is a long-term support variant of Windows 10 Enterprise released every 2 to 3 years. Each release is supported with security updates for either 5 or 10 years after its release, and intentionally receive no feature updates. Some features, including the Microsoft Store and bundled apps, are not included in this edition. This edition was first released as Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB (Long-Term Servicing Branch). There are currently 4 releases of LTSC: one in 2015 (version 1507), one in 2016 (version 1607), one in 2018 (labeled as 2019, version 1809), and one in 2021 (version 21H2).

Dism++ 10.1.1002.1

2021-08-30 |

Dism++Dism++ can be considered as a GUI frontend of DISM, but it does not rely on Dism. It is instead based on a low-level Component Based Servicing (CBS) interface instead of the DISM API or DISM Core API.

Dism++ Features
Dism++ does not require any additional Dism component, such as the Windows ADK DISM components, making it compatible with a vareity of systems. Compared to Microsoft’s Dism, the other solution requires 3 versions of the Windows ADK DISM components.
Dism++ is like an improved version of Dism. It provides a full graphical interface and supports almost all of Dism’s functionalities and more. It can be used to manage updates, drivers, updates, features, Appx; toggle services and features; use Compact and WIMBoot; repair system…etc.
Dism++ provides full WIM support (including ESD patching, ESD to ISO, release partial ESD, and direct support for ISO). Most importantly, when using the ESD to ISO conversion feature, Dism++ can decrypt from the internal storage without decrypting the data.
Dism++ provides an open-ended clean-up and optimization features. Users can define their own Dism++ rules, creating their own tools for the system.

Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

2021-06-24 |

Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain LionOS X Mountain Lion (version 10.8) is the ninth major release of macOS, Apple Inc.’s desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. OS X Mountain Lion was released on July 25, 2012 for purchase and download through Apple’s Mac App Store, as part of a switch to releasing OS X versions online and every year, rather than every two years or so. Named to signify its status as a refinement of the previous OS X version, Lion, Apple’s stated aims in developing Mountain Lion were to allow users to more easily manage and synchronise content between multiple Apple devices and to make the operating system more familiar.

The operating system gained the new malware-blocking system Gatekeeper and integration with Apple’s online Game Center and iCloud services, while the Safari web browser was updated to version 6. As on iOS, Notes and Reminders became full applications, separate from Mail and Calendar, while the iChat application was replaced with a version of iOS’s Messages. Mountain Lion also added a version of iOS’s Notification Center, which groups updates from different applications in one place. Integrated links allowing the user to rapidly transfer content to Twitter were present in the operating system from launch. Facebook integration was also planned but unfinished at launch date. It was released as a downloadable update later.

OS X Mountain Lion received positive reviews, with critics praising Notification Center, Messages, and speed improvements over Mac OS X Lion, while criticizing iCloud for unreliability and Game Center for lack of games. Mountain Lion sold three million units in the first four days, and has sold 28 million units as of June 10, 2013, making it Apple’s most popular OS X release. Mountain Lion was the last paid upgrade for an OS X major release, with OS X Mavericks and later being free. Apple later allowed free downloads of the OS, starting on June 30, 2021.

2021-06-24 |

Mac OS X 10.7 LionOS X Lion, also known as Mac OS X Lion, (version 10.7) is the eighth major release of macOS, Apple’s desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers.

A preview of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion was publicly shown at the “Back to the Mac” Apple Special Event on October 20, 2010. It brought many developments made in Apple’s iOS, such as an easily navigable display of installed applications, to the Mac, and includes support for the Mac App Store, as introduced in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard version 10.6.6. On February 24, 2011, the first developer’s preview of Lion (11A390) was released to subscribers to the Apple Developer program. Other developer previews were subsequently released, with Lion Preview 4 (11A480b) being released at WWDC 2011.

Lion was released to manufacturing on July 1, 2011, followed by its final release via the Mac App Store on July 20, 2011. Apple reported over one million Lion sales on the first day of its release. As of October 2011, Mac OS X Lion had sold over six million copies worldwide.

Lion is the final release whose development was overseen by Bertrand Serlet, considered the “founding father of Mac OS X”.

Although originally paid, Apple later allowed free downloads of the OS, starting on June 30, 2021.

Everything 1.4.1

2018-12-22 |

Everything“Everything” is search engine that locates files and folders by filename instantly for Windows. Unlike Windows search “Everything” initially displays every file and folder on your computer (hence the name “Everything”). You type in a search filter to limit what files and folders are displayed.

“Everything” only indexes file and folder names and generally takes a few seconds to build its database. A fresh install of Windows 10 (about 120,000 files) will take about 1 second to index. 1,000,000 files will take about 1 minute.

“Everything” will run on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 . NTFS indexing requires the Everything service or running “Everything” as administrator.
