Miro是内含Mozilla浏览器及VLC播放软件的跨平台开放源码影音播放软件，原称为Democracy Player。支持ASF、Windows Media Video、MP4、QuickTime、FLAC、AVI、MPEG-2、Theora、DivX、Xvid 及 Matroska 等多种格式。有了Miro，你可以轻松订阅感兴趣的Videocast（频道）。至于Videocast是什么…… 简单说就是利用 RSS 技术但送出的内容不单是文字而还有影片。

一旦订阅了某个频道，Miro 就会定期帮你检查有没有新影片可以下载；你可以要求 Miro 自动下载新影片、所有影片或只检查不下载，也可以依据硬碟空间大小等标准限制 Miro 的下载数量及速率、以免硬碟爆掉或者积了一堆影片看不完。

此外，你也可以利用 Miro 到许多影音网站搜寻影片，并将查询式储存为“搜寻频道”，便可以不断监控某些话题的新影片。目前 Miro 支援的影音服务包括 Revver、YouTube、Google Video 等数种常见的网站，我们可以预期未来会以其他方式加上更多种服务。
